School Characteristics

YTC is located in Yokohama, which is a historic seaport town, and located within walking distance of the nearest station. YTC is the one and only school in Kanagawa prefecture, capable of acquiring the following qualifications: first-class small motor auto mechanic, and three kinds of second-class auto mechanics (gasoline, diesel, motorcycle). You can also challenge to be a "total car engineer" by taking the following courses called "advanced general mechanic" and "general mechanic" that teach auto mechanic, plating and painting. Our experienced instructors will teach useful techniques in this field, and induct professionals' know-how on the job training. We have more than 40 years of history, and willingly support your dreams come true.

  • First-class Auto Mechanic Department (4 Years, Daytime, Male/Female, 20 Students)

    Learn the basics in first two years and acquire the qualification of second-class auto mechanic. From the third year, further to difficult/advanced technical trouble assessment and maintenance technique, YTC will also introduce our original curriculum includes giving an oral report that enables you to have capability and communication skills (such as estimation of plating, explanation of fixing and to advise pleasantly on safety).

  • Auto Maintenance Department (2 Years, Daytime, Male/Female, 80 Students)

    Lecture will be practical-oriented and internship will also be introduced, in order to experience as much as possible while in school. Through numerous practical training, you will get used to auto maintenance, and technique, applied skill, capability will also follow. This course enables you to acquire the following qualifications: second-class auto mechanic (gasoline and diesel) that is necessary to be a service engineer, and furthermore second-class motorcycle mechanic.

  • Plating and Painting Department (1 Year, Daytime, Male/Female, 40 Students) – minimum second-class auto mechanic qualification (Japanese national qualification) is required

    We had completed the manual of technique based on seat-of-the-pants experience. With the latest educational system, detailed instruction, and practical training with abundant materials, we aim to raise plating and painting specialists in short term.

  • Advanced General Mechanic Course (5 Years, Daytime, Male/Female, 20 Students)
  • General Mechanic Course (3 Years, Daytime, Male/Female, 40 Students)

    At YTC, you can learn both of auto mechanic, plating and painting. We aim to raise "total car engineer" who can be prepared solo for any needs in motor vehicle industry.

    You can learn auto maintenance and motorcycle maintenance (optional) intensively at first-class auto mechanic course or auto mechanic course. And in the next year, students will learn "Plating" "Color Toning" "Painting" with our original stepwise education. Students will also acquire practical skills and overall power of execution.

  • Miscellaneous expense (textbooks, uniform for practical training, maintenance tool set, fee for all qualification exams, student insurance, health administration fee, recreation fee and so) are subject to change due to fluctuation in prices or all kinds of condition. It will be informed upon admission procedure.

Overseas Training Fee

As a part of course, overseas training will be operated at Auto Mechanic Department and First-Class Auto Mechanic Department (both in second year). Therefore, approx.150,000 Yen will be saved in a lump sum or in installments. The amount will subject to change due to exchange rate. For more details, we will inform you after admission.

Notice on Admission Procedure

  • If you did not complete admission procedure and payment of tuition by our designated date, your admission will be cancelled.
  • No procedure will be accepted at any condition, after the admission procedure due date.
  • If anyone excuse themselves from admitting YTC after the admission procedure is completed, fees (*) that are already paid may be refunded as a general rule. *Course fee, Practical fee, Material fee, Equipment Maintenance Fee (except fee for screening, admission and so)

About Application Method and Judging System

Foreign students are required to attend examination consulting fair and school tour, then, receive an explanation individually. After that, we will make an explanation on course descriptions and determine your Japanese language skill (which is required at school) at pre-examination interview.

Qualification for Applicants

  1. Foreign citizen with completing 12-year school education overseas (For some countries, it will not be admitted as regulated school education. Please be advised beforehand.)
  2. Condition of Resident Status as "Overseas Education"
    • Completed Japanese language education more than 6 months at Japanese language educational facilities (set by notice from Minister of Justice)
    • Proved having enough Japanese language skill to attend vocational school through exam (acquired more than Level 2 at Japanese Language Aptitude Test or marked more than 200 points of Japanese exam at EJU – Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students) Or one who was educated at SEA (School Education Act) Article 1-designated schools more than one year (except kindergarten).
  3. Have verified personal reference (adult) who resides in Japan.
  4. Have enough assets, scholarship or other measure to maintain the cost of living
  5. Healthy enough to acquiring technique and capable of obtaining non-professional driver's license.
  6. Aged 18 or older
  • Those who fulfill or likely to fulfill above conditions can apply.
  • Even if you are accepted for admission, actual admission will NOT be made without student visa.
  • You need to visit school once before application.

  7. Transcript and Attendance Certificate of Japanese language educational facility (more than 80 percent of attendance required)
  8. Copy of certificate at Japanese Language Aptitude Test (more than Level 2) or score certificate of EJU – Examination for Japanese University Admission (more than 200 points required)
  9. Please bring your passport and alien registration card (copies will be made for our reference)
  10. Letter on purpose of studying (We have our predefined letter. Please contact our admission counseling center for details)
  11. A written pledge of personal reference (no particularly designated document however, specify the details of your personal reference-to-be (name, date of birth, address, phone number, occupation, relation between the applicant and the personal reference)
  12. Any documents that can verify your financial status in order to pay tuition and living expense (e.g., certificate of deposit balance, details of your savings passbook)
  13. Screening fee 20,000 Yen – Please bring your ATM receipt (copy is acceptable).

Judging System

  1. Pre-examination : We will make an explanation on course descriptions and determine your Japanese language skill (which is required at school) at interview.
  2. General Entrance Exam
    • Achievement test : Mathematics, Japanese

      (Documents of prep for exam will be distributed at examination consulting fair)

    • Interview : Confirm your willingness to learn at your desired field, and oral test including Japanese hearing skill.

*Our class will be performed in Japanese only, therefore certain level of Japanese language skill is required before admission.
